Once you complete your Ordeal, you will become a member of the Order of the Arrow. From there, you’ll have opportunities to continue your involvement, serve others, and grow as a leader within the Lodge.

Below you’ll find some information about how to prepare for your ordeal.
What is an Ordeal?
The Ordeal is a weekend experience in which candidates learn about the traditions of the Order while reflecting on the principles of leadership, service, and brotherhood. It is designed to be both meaningful and memorable.
How do I sign up?
The lodge holds two Ordeals every year – the Allogagan in March and the Pilgrimage in August. You must attend at least one of these weekends within 18 months of your election. If you do not, you must be re-elected by your troop the following year.
Selected by your unit and ready to begin your Ordeal? Visit the Council website and sign up for the event once registration is posted!
What should I bring?
You should only bring the following items to your Ordeal.
- Horseshoe Pack (see THIS LETTER for full details)
- BSA Medical form
- Any Required Medications
- Extra cash (for the Trading Post when Ordeal is over)
Arrive at camp between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm on Friday. Supper is provided on Friday!
